High/Low Pass Filter Calculator

A high-pass filter (HPF) also known as "Bass cut" is an electronic filter that passes high-frequency signals but attenuates (reduces the amplitude of) signals with frequencies lower than the cutoff frequency.

A low-pass filter (LPF) also known as "High cut" is a filter that passes low-frequency signals and attenuates signals with frequencies higher than the cutoff frequency.

A low-pass filter is the opposite of an high-pass filter. The actual amount of attenuation for each frequency varies depending on specific filter design. Using the high/low pass filter below this attenuation will be +/-3db. The calculator is based on the formula:

f = 1/2*Pi*R1*C1

Enter a value in 2 of the fields and click Calculate.

Capacitor (C1) : F
Resistor (R1) : Ω (ohms)
Cutoff frequency (f) : Hz
